About Step into Ceremony

Forrest Yoga is Ceremony – a sacred space where you connect you to your authentic self and explore who you truly are. It combines strong asana practices and deep meditation ceremonies to build physical, mental and spiritual strength.

I created Forrest Yoga over 40 years ago as I worked through my own healing. Its purpose is to create a sense of freedom, connect you to your spirit, and bring about the courage to live your life as your spirit dictates.

The asana practices in this 3-part series focus on two crucial pillars of Forrest Yoga: freedom from struggle and connecting to your spirit. Freedom From Struggle uses inversions to uncover emotional roadblocks and confront fear in order to build self-respect and strength. Romance Your Spirit focuses on backbends to open your physical body and free your heart so you can give and receive love. In Power of Ceremony we will set your intention through meditation and reflection, and apply these intentions to the physical practice sequences. I've put these three plans together because they compliment each other perfectly. You will get adept at backbends in a pain-free way. You will get strong in your body. You will get wondrous, exhilarating inversions that are safe. And finally you will get many tools with the ceremony to connect to your authentic self and your spirit.

This series contains the tools to live your life more directly, in a way that makes you proud, and builds your inner power. I invite you to use these Forrest Yoga principles and practices to take responsibility to evolving yourself. Join me.

Freedom is something we earn, not something that is handed to us. This month-long series will teach you to be free from struggle on your mat so that you can be free from struggle in life. Through this Forrest Yoga practice, we use inversions as a means to uncover emotional and mental roadblocks and build self-respect, self-esteem and undeniable strength.

I created Forrest Yoga over four decades ago because Struggle and Fear all too often dictate and direct our lives. Because we often disconnect ourselves from them, it can be difficult to see how they impact us on a daily basis. This method exposes both so they no longer have a place to hide.

This plan is sequenced so that you practice inversions and arm balances in four 30-minute and one hour-long class every week. Whether you’re new to going upside down or not, we all have a “no-go” zone. I will show you how to embrace moments of struggle and fear in order to achieve deep, multifaceted growth. You will learn to break free from the chains that hold you back not only in your practice but in how you approach your life!

Connecting to your spirit is the most important love affair of your life. This Forrest Yoga practice focuses on backbends to open your physical body and free up your heart to expose the compassion, self-respect and self-worth hidden underneath.

In this series I will guide you on a wondrous journey of love, self-care and transformation. You will learn to be good to your body and to treat your life as you would treat someone you love dearly.

We all have archived energies of darkness hidden deep within us, and the backbends and heart openers in this series will teach you how to track those negative energies and ease them out of your behavior. Soon you’ll notice something beautiful begin to happen: the places within you that once held something cold slowly transform into spaces where your greatest love radiates.

Backbends are notorious for making people feel vulnerable, shaky and emotional. And rather than fight these moments, together we will embrace them for being the gifts they are. We will use the moments of anger, frustration and tears to release the blockages of hate and negativity.

You’ll tap into and free up your heart to fully embrace yourself while you learn to give and receive love from others.
